Stage will help determine the impact of prostate cancer and help doctors develop the best treatment.  Patient will need to go through series of staging process to diagnose their stage.
The staging process including: Digital rectal examination (DRE), PSA Blood Test, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT scan and Seminal Vesicle Biopsy.
Prostate cancer can be broadly divided into the following 4 stages:

  • Stage 1: Prostate cancer cells confined within Prostate gland and the PSA level should be less than 10.
  • Stage 2: Prostate cancer cells stay in Prostate gland but the PSA level increased to up to 20.
  • Stage 3: Prostate cancer cells has spread outside the prostate. However the spread is limited to the prostate and seminal vesicle adjacent structures.
  • Stage 4: Prostate cancer cells spread to the lymph nodes, bones or other organs such as liver and lungs.
